We offer quite a variety of enrichment classes for enrollment at C.V. Starr for all ages, from Pre-Schoolers to Adults. All of the group exercise classes are available on a drop-in basis as part of your site usage pass.

First Friday Fun Night
Mom and Dad go check out what’s happening in down town Fort Bragg! Leave the youngsters here and the C. V. Starr Center. Everyone can swim, just as long as they are willing to wear a life jacket or pass a swim test without a life jacket. A snack will be provided.

Kids Night Out
Parents take the night off and enjoy staying at home or going out on a date. Everyone can swim, just as long as they are willing to wear a life jacket or pass a swim test without a life jacket. A snack will be provided.

Sharks and Mermaid Extravaganza
Come join the fun in the pool! We’ll learn how to flip our fins and show that Mermaids and Sharks really do get along. We’ll start in the water with treasure hunts, obstacle courses and free fin time, ending with all Mermaids and Sharks beaching into the party room with more surprises to come. Must be comfortable swimming and putting your face in the water. (Mermaid tails and Shark fins provided)

Minecraft Workshop
Take your Minecraft experience to the next level as you rebuild, remake and remaster. Bring your laptop, iPad or phone to class. This is a great class to share your ideas, while learning from others.

Sun Yi’s Traditional Tae Kwon Do
Whether your interest in Tawe Kwon Do training is developing your own or your children’s self discipline and self-confidence, or improving self-defense skills and physical fitness, our classes will help you achieve those goals. Our carefully designed system of instruction makes starting your training easy and enjoyable for beginners.

Lego Workshop
Come with your friends and enjoy an afternoon of Lego creativity. You’ll make things as a group and also as an individual. If you want to bring something home bring your own Legos. Legos provided by C. V. Starr to play with during class will need to stay at C. V. Starr after class.

Science 101

Early Release Fun Day
Looking for something fun for your child to do on the FBUSD early release days? Let them spend time dabbling in arts and crafts, releasing energy swimming and with outside play, and exploring the world through science and cooking. Check the monthly calendar for daily activities. Send a healthy snack and drink each day.

Culinary Class
If you are passionate about food, this class is for you! Learn the magic of ingredients and flavors, easy to prepare healthy dishes for you and your family. Join plant-based Chef Martine Lussier and follow step by step delectable recipes. With her unique and professional style, observe Martine teaching recipes and enjoy the change to try the tasty goods. (this is not a hands on class)

CPR/First Aid/ AED Adult and Pediatric
This course will prepare you to recognize and care for a variety of first aid, breathing and cardiac emergencies involving adult, children and infants. Through a combination of self-paced online learning and instructor-led classroom skill sessions you will have the opportunity to practice and demonstrate skill competency required for certification. The online portion features simulation learning, an interactive experience where participants respond to real-world emergencies in a virtual setting. The online portion must be completed prior to attending the class room session and must be taken on a Flash enabled computer with high speed internet connection.

Red Cross Lifeguard/ Shallow Water/ Water Park Blended Leaning Class. First Aid, CPR for the Pro/ AED and Title 22
Are you 15 or older and looking for a great job or challenging career? American Red Cross Lifeguarding is the place to start! Lifeguarding puts you in an exciting position, working as part of a team to help people safely enjoy the water. Prerequisite: Swim 300 yards continuously; tread water for 2 minutes using legs only and a timed swim test. If swimmer cannot meet these requirements, they will not be allowed to take the course. When you register, pick up a class syllabus, it will give you the link to the online portion of this class. You must register 3 days before the class starts. Bring your swim suit, towel, pocket mask, manual, and the printed out confirmation that you have completed the online portion of the class.

Cardio-Spin

Enjoy a fun, fast-paced workout with our motivating staff. Take a ride on our spin bikes, listening to high-energy music and enjoying the rush of an energizing 60-minute workout.

Cycle and Sculpt

Come and get a little of everything in one class. This class will consist of a warm up, cycle period, total body conditioning using the weight bars, and lastly, a cool down.

Core Strength

This class combines a variety of yoga and pilates  to increase core strength, flexibility and balance. Exercise target abdominal muscles and back muscles, focusing on strength, flexibility and proper alignment.

Easy Yoga

A gentle, non- competitive, easy yoga class, With simple sequences for optimal, deep and effective stretching. Roll out into the early morning and onto a sweet yoga mat. Enjoy getting deeper in your gentle practice, soothing sore backs, shoulders and hamstrings while creating spaciousness in any tight muscles.

Gentle Yoga

Yoga is for everyone. Yoga is concentration on body, mind and spirit using breath to make the connections. Classes are gentle and help build strength, flexibility and balance. The yoga is tailored to each student for his or her own particular abilities. Props such as blocks, blankets and belts, the wall and bench are used to enable students with different capabilities to achieve and sustain poses without strain. Alignment is taught so the body is balanced and making the best use of its structure. Each student will be able to work at his or her own level so the class is for beginners to advanced. Students with injuries and seniors are welcome.

Weekend Yoga

A thorough set of poses that work the entire body with an emphasis on breathing. Participants can modify poses as needed.

Silver Sneakers Classic

Functional training for range of movement, agility and balance to maintain quick reflexes, light weights for muscle and bone mass, heart and brain healthy cardio movements; all to motivating and uplifting music.

Step Aerobics

Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activities for daily living. Hand- held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a Silver Sneakers ball are offered for resistance. A chair is available if needed for seated or standing support.

Step In & Out

Similar to Step Aerobics, but packed into a quick 45 minute workout.

Total Body Sculpt

This 60-minute fast-paced class challenges, motivates and utilizes a variety of total body strengthening moves in addition to core strengthening exercises and light cardio. Program relies on three proven principles for increased fitness: variety, intensity and load. Our experienced instructors focus on load bearing exercises that produce stronger, leaner and more flexible muscles.

 Weight Bar Workout

This 60-minute barbell program strengthens all your major muscles in an inspiring, motivating group environment. With simple athletic movements such as squats, lunges, presses and curls, this class is appropriate for all ages and fitness levels.

Similar to Weight Bar Workout, but packed into a quick 45-minutes.

Zumba® Fitness

When participants see a Zumba® class in action, they can’t wait to give it a try. Zumba® classes feature exotic rhythms set to high-energy Latin and international beats. Aquatic Group Exercise Classes

Aqua Power

Jumpstart your workout with high-intensity aqua aerobics. This class has a short warm up and warm down. The majority of the class is high-intensity movement with resistance.

Aqua Zumba®

Known as the Zumba “pool party,” Aqua Zumba gives new meaning to the idea of an invigorating workout. Splashing, stretching, twisting, even shouting, laughing, hooting and hollering are often heard during an Aqua Zumba class. Integrating the Zumba formula and philosophy with traditional aqua fitness disciplines, Aqua Zumba blends it all together into a safe, challenging, water-based workout that’s cardio-conditioning, body-toning, and most of all, exhilarating beyond belief.

Deep Water Aerobics

Postural awareness and muscle activation is a blast as you work vertically all muscle groups with your head above water. Use flotation equipment in a fast-paced powerful work out. You are sure to burn calories in this class!

Shallow Water Aerobics

A fun, energetic, calorie-burning workout in the leisure pool. Use the resistance of the water and equipment to strengthen the heart, muscles and core.

Low Impact Water Exercise Class

A warm-water exercise program shown to reduce joint pain and improve overall health by increasing strength and flexibility. This class will improve your day-to-day life and is suitable for every fitness level.

Water Fitness For Everyone

This is a gentle exercise program in the leisure pool. You’ll work on balance, cardio-vascular endurance, strength and flexibility. Exercising in a warm, buoyant environment helps decrease pain and stiffness while improving overall physical health.

Water Walking

The Lazy River is open for water walking and jogging. The water jets are turned on to create a current that increases resistance for a great workout. This is an excellent time for low impact exercising and injury rehabilitation. For adults (18+) only.
